Tulsa,
Ok. August
13, 2009 - The enlyten sponsored
Vision racing team Nascar development stand out, Tanner Berryhill, will make
his first appearance back in the ASA Late Model Challenge Series this coming
Saturday, August 15. The Music City 100 at the tough high speed concrete Nashville
Superspeedway will mark Berryhill's return for the challenge series and he will
continue on for the balance of the seasons challenge races. "I'm so
glad to be getting back to the speedways, I really like to run the big high
speed tracks." said Berryhill. Tanner made an impressive first start
in the Challenge Series last November at the "Kings Randsom 300" at Memphis Motorsports Park
where he qualified tenth and raced in the top ten all day until a late race cut
tire ended his day. Its obvious that the young Oklahoma driver will be a challenger for
many years as his Vision racing team is getting its equipment better sorted
out. "We went and raced for nearly two weeks all throughout Wisconsin and Illinois a
couple of weeks ago at Madison, Rockford,
Wisconsin International and the
Dell's speedway and that has been great! We posted a couple top tens and really
learned a lot, the team needed that and feel certain we will be able to contend
for a win at Nashville”,
said the excited Berryhill. Vision racing has had good history running at Nashville
Superspeedway in the ARCA Remax series running sprint car standout Zac Chappell
where he finished 7th in his first asphalt/stock car start. Vision Racing
also raced former Roush Racing driver Tyler Walker in the Nascar Busch Series
at Nashville.
"We are excited to come to a track that we have had a lot of time at, with
Tanner, to help him continue to show the racing world his natural talent"
Our experience as a team is mostly on Nascar speedways so we are essentially rookies on the majority
of the tracks we are running Tanner at in the ASA series." This will be a
first for our team to walk into a race on the ASA schedule with confidence
knowing our environment." said team owner Adrian Berryhill. "We
are very happy with the results we've had this year thus far considering Tanner
and our team are new to the tracks and the lightweight stock engine type race
cars." Tanner, has already produced top ten finishes at tracks
he has never seen and has not been involved in a single accident."
"This has allowed us to work on our cars and make them better and it is
starting to show", said team manager Mike Borrell. "Tanner just loves to race, a few days after we returned from
the 3500 mile long Wisconsin / Illinois late model
swing, Tanner went to the shop to prepare his Outlaw Micro Sprint for an
upcoming ASCS II race and was second fast and finished sixth in the feature
event." " I thought he would be worn out from the late model swing,
but he wants to race anything, anytime." "Heck, on the way
home from Wisconsin,
he and crew member Darin Robinson made plans to run a Hornet class enduro race
over the Halloween weekend." "That is why companies come on
board to support Tanner, his love for the sport truly shines through",
said Team owner and dad Adrian Berryhill. The host of the ASA Late Model Series on blogtalkradio.com,
Terry Wall has invited our own Tanner Berryhill to be a featured guest on the
show today at 5:15 today CST, August 3, 2009. Along with Tanner, former
ASA series champion Eddie Hoffman will also be a guest so it appears it will be
an exciting show with a lot of great racing talk. You can tune and hear the show on your web browser at
this web address: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Terry-Wall/2009/08/03/ASA-LATE-MODEL-SERIES-FASTALK-RACING-SHOW This show is on the heels of Tanner’s great performances at
several tracks throughout the Illinois and Wisconsin areas. In the last
10 days Tanner has posted two top 10’s, and two top 15 place finishes at
several tracks never previously visited. If you wish to participate in the show, the number to call
in with questions for Tanner is (646) 649-0909. Tune in for this exciting show! ASA Return a Success for Tanner Berryhill and Team enlyten Madison, WI - July 27th, 2009 Tanner
Berryhill has returned to the ASA racing series after a short break this last
weekend with a strong performance on his behalf in light of team equipment
problems. The Number 17 enlyten, Americash Advance.com, National Cash
Lenders.com, Excel Sports Medicine, Awesome Racewear sponsored Ford Fusion of
Berryhill hit the high banks of Rockford Speedway in Rockford
Illinois Saturday night in good fashion. The young Nascar
development driver had never seen the track before and was solidly lapping the
track in practice with times close to the top ten. The number 17 was experiencing
troubles with the Phil Harper built Ford engine all day long. In light of
those troubles, Berryhill was able to take his mount to the finish of the crash
inclusive event and post his best finish in the ASA division to date, finishing
in the tenth position. " If we didn't have engine troubles, I think
we could have truly been a contender here" "This place is a lot of
fun, a real drivers track" said Berryhill. "I'm extremely
disapointed that we did not provide Tanner with a better package this weekend,
he really keeps showing us why he is here and we are gonna have to get better
prepared for him" said team manager Mike Borrell. The youngster out
of Bixby, Oklahoma did his best to take the car from the last starting position
after an ignition change in impound to finish tenth and stay out of trouble all
while running on six cylinders. The Ford engine apparently had a couple
of rocker arms work loose and fall off. "These kind of things should
not happen, we are using the best resources we know of to supply our new
engines but then again we've seen stranger things in racing". Said
team owner Adrian Berryhill. "We are extremely proud of the patience
and maturity Tanner showed not to get rattled and just go perform his job well"! Berryhill, again showed great skill and maturity the
following day at Madison International Speedway in Madison Wisconsin on Sunday
July 26th where he raced his engine repaired Number 17 Ford fusion from a tail
back qualifying position all the way up to the seventh position. He was
able to do this while missing all of the practice sessions for engine repairs
on a track he had never seen before. While restarting from a late race
spin. Berryhill found himself turning around coming out of turn four on the
restart. " I don't know if someone was putting oil down or what but the car
just stepped out while I was making a move on the zero car of Josh
Nelms." "I really had a great day racing and I learned a
lot racing in the front with the veterans, watching their lines really helped
me get around here a lot better, Madison
is kinda tricky". "I hope all the people with enlyten know how
happy I am to produce the results they are looking for and know they will only
get better" Said Berryhill. The enlyten sponsored Ford Fusion ended the day in the 12th
position. The enlyten Racing Sponsored cars have one top five and three
top tens in five starts.
Tanner Berryhill Wins Again and Vision Racing Rocked at the "Rock"
Tulsa,
Ok. July 11th, 2009 - The enlyten sponsored team of Vision Racing was on its game in more ways than one
over the last week of racing. First, the cooperative effort between
Vision Racing and 5K racing this past 4th of July weekend proved to be a strong
union with stand out driver Chris Eggleston at the wheel subbing for Tanner
Berryhill. The number 17 was a strong
contender at the ASA Challenge race "Cherry Bomb 200" at the Famed
Rockingham Speedway. A solid qualifying effort put the team in the 12
starting position. Eggleston piloted the enlyten sponsored Ford Fusion to
the front of the field running as high as third during the race and finishing
with a solid seventh place finish. "We were real happy to post enlyten’s first top ten in this highly competitive racing series of ASA",
"The Challenge events are the toughest out there and we feel the run was a
success for Vision Racing, enlyten and 5k" said Ken Wills of 5K. "We
know the 17 car is a solid car and we are definitely moving in the right
direction and are excited to bring Tanner back to pilot the enlyten, Awesome
Racewear, National Cash Lenders.com ASA Challenge cars in the near
future", Who knows, with the pairing of the 5k team with Vision we just
might have two enlyten cars at the balance of the Challenge races", Chris
did an excellent job and we would love to have an opportunity to do more with
him and 5k, well see", said team owner Adrian Berryhill.
Tanner’s absence from ASA Challenge racing has been hard on the
dirt sprint competitors as he is now four wins in a row capturing his fourth
win Friday night with a full ASCSII outlaw sprint field of cars and
drivers. Berryhill drove his Excel Sports Medicine, Sawyer chassis to the
front of the field in his qualifying heat, posting a point average that earned
him the pole position for the 30 lap A main event. The field included
some of the nation’s best National champions including Kevin Bayer and chassis
builder/driver Scott Sawyer. Tanner took the early lead in the A
main over Scott Sawyer lengthening his advantage to nearly half a lap early on
and never looked back as he lapped up to tenth position and set his sight on
capturing his fourth win in a row. "Man, the Sawyer car was great
and I've got the best crew out there. I can’t wait to take this
momentum to ASA real soon" said the pumped fifteen year old Tanner
Berryhill. Vision Racing will pick up the ASA Challenge Series Events with
Tanner Berryhill behind the wheel starting at Nashville Superspeedway.
Vision Racing would like to continue its partnership with Ken Wills' 5k racing
team for upcoming ASA Challenge Series events. " We have a
commitment to all our sponsors to represent them at the scheduled events and we
intend to do it in a way that will make them proud." "I feel this
program will do just that and we are all very excited." said team owner
Adrian Berryhill.
Tanner Berryhill Dominates Will Rogers Speedway Two Day Show
Tulsa, Ok. June 29, 2008 -
Tanner Berryhill may be temporarily sidelined from his regular job as an ASA
Stock Car competitor but his ability as a race winning driver continues to
impress wherever he goes. Friday night was the opening night of a two day
Outlaw micro sprint car series race at the impressive speed plant known as Will
Rogers Speedway in Claremore Oklahoma.
This facility has been host to numerous national events as well
as many of the ChiliBowl Indoor Midget
National competitors. With a solid field of competitors on hand the
Vision Racing Excel Sports Medicine Americash Advance.Com Enlyten Sawyer
Chassis number seventeen Finished the heat race in the fourth position
putting Berryhill on the front row of the main event for Friday Night.
Upon the drop of the green flag Berryhill immediately captured the first
position and never looked back. Prior to an early caution Berryhill's
advantage over second stretched to an impressive 3/4 lap advantage.
Upon the restart the same results continued while Berryhill was never
challenged for the lead capturing the night one victory by over half a
lap. " I really want to thank my grandparents Bob and Jane for
allowing me to have such a great race car, with out it I don't think we could
have the results we are having, this is just awesome!"
said tanner after Friday nights victory.
Saturday nights event brought out a larger field of
competitors to battle in the 100 degree heat of summer. Berryhill started
his heat race in the sixth position and began to close in on the leaders as he
diced the field and then back off the third place car settled
in passing for third on the second to last lap of the ten lap
event. When asked by the Vision team why he didn't go for
the win, Berryhill responded " I wanted to secure an inside line for
the feature event and not jeopardize his starting position by winning and
getting put at the rear of the field by an inversion." The young
thinking driver was correct as his mid pack run put him in the second row
inside for the beginning of the final nights 30 lap main event. A.J.
Foyt, Mario Andretti, Tony Stewart.....Tanner Berryhill?
Sunday May 30th, 2009 TULSA,
OK. -
All the greatest drivers in the world have, at one time, had to show the
ability to show versatility in the sport of auto racing.
AJ Foyt could take a "Big Car" from the Indiana State
Fairgrounds dirt track and show up the next week at the
famous Milwaukee Mile and not only put it in the show against
the nations best, but win the race! Mario Andretti
would jump from Indycars to Formula One to midgets, sprints, champ
cars and even NASCAR stock cars and would always show why his legend is
talked and even sung about in today’s culture.
Tony Stewart could be in a dirt late model
at Eldora winning one weekend and on the high banks of Talladega besting
the field the next. Let me remind you that Stewart also is an Indycar
champion as well in the Indy Racing League in 1997. All of the
greats in the sport of auto racing have been able to jump into different forms
of racing and success would follow them. In today's racing world legends aren’t created they are earned and
many of today’s young drivers are attempting to
earn their legend status and one of them is a driver named
Tanner Berryhill out of Tulsa
Oklahoma. Berryhill, a
legend in the making? Only time will tell. But, Tanner is showing the
same remarkable success as all the past and present greats. This
weekend Berryhill has amazed the dirt racing community by jumping
into an Outlaw micro sprint car just a couple of
weeks after racing his ASA Challenge Series stock car at the famed
Milwaukee Mile and charging hard from deep in the field and finishing
second in only his third start in a dirt open wheel car. Not only
did the youngster from Tulsa
Oklahoma compete for the win
on Saturday night but the Vision Racing team loaded his sprint car
and headed for a Sunday afternoon race on a track he had never raced
on, and once again impressed the dirt critics! Starting from the outside front row on a hot dusty dry afternoon
(Sound like days of past?) Berryhill piloted his #17 Americash Advance, Excel
Sports Medicine Sawyer Chassis Sprint into the number one position and never
looked back stretching his lead to nearly a half lap advantage over local hot
shoe Frankie Flood. The skill and precision needed to win at this
challenging dry slick dusty speedplant was at Tanners dispose as he made
it look like second nature as the 30 lap feature would
wind down and victory would be had. With wins in every type of race car and any type of surface
whether dirt, asphalt or concrete, Berryhill sets his sights on a win in the
ASA late model Challenge series "Gleaners 200" in a couple of weeks
on June 13th at O'Reillys Raceway Park in Indianapolis Indiana. Berryhill
has run one ASA asphalt Challenge late model race and is setting his goals
on being the youngest competitor to win in the Challenge series. Tanner
just recently turned fifteen and will not be sixteen until after the final
race of the ASA Challenge series season at Memphis Motorsports park in early
November 2009 so he has time on his side to break into the record books and a legend
is surely developing before our eyes. Tuesday, February
10th - Well, loyal Vision Racing enlyten race team supporters, I wish
I had something good to report on from New Smyrna Speedway last night
but I don’t. The number 17 of Tanner Berryhill was pacing the
field when during a yellow pace lap two cars in front of him decided
they wanted to vent their emotions on the track and the 14 car two cars
in front of Tanner decided to jump on the brakes while taking the green
flag start causing three car from behind to collect and flip the number
3 car and once again, the number 17 was a victim of circumstances destroying
the car. The car was so heavily damaged that it was unable to continue.
The back up car is prepared and ready to start tuning for Wednesdays
event. Please keep Vision Racing team and Tanner in your prayers as
this has been a very trying event for everyone. Stay tuned, for ALL
things through Christ are possible! Friday, February
6th - The enlyten Vision Racing Team was again in the top three in practice
times all day with solid long runs showing a good stable race car for
the evening race at hand. Tanner Berryhill started in his fourth qualifying
position with strong possibilities of taking the win. Upon the drop
of the green flag the enlyten number 17 passed the third place car around
the top in turns one and two. The second place car of Jerrick Johnson
and full time NASCAR Nationwide Hendricks' driver Landon Cassill took
off to a two car advantage. The number 17 charged hard and made the
quick inside move on Jerrick Johnson to take the 2nd position on lap
number two. It was clear that Tanner Berryhill had the his car on the
mark and was closing Landon Cassill quickly to take the top spot away.
After the pass on Johnson the yellow flag flew for a hard multi car
crash in turns three and four. Heavy damage and debris scattered the
corner as workers worked hard to clean the wreck. Upon the lap three
restart Berryhill made a hard charge upon Cassill and looked hard inside
Cassill coming out of turn two. As Berryhill made the move the car went
out of control and spun to the inside retaining wall out of turn two
bringing out caution number two. It appeared the car spun for no real
reason until learning the car had a mechanical clutch failure causing
it to spin and the enlyten number 17 was finished for the night. Saturday, February
7th - Upon repairing the clutch the Vision Racing team worked hard to
get the hard charging Ford Fusion number 17 of Tanner Berryhill back
on top of the speed charts. It was a successful test session prior to
Saturday nights race with the enlyten speed machine at the top of the
charts in speeds. The field will be set by previous nights finishing
position putting the number 17 deep in the field of tonight's race starting
in the 23 position. Upon the green flag the team agreed to have a strong
finish and try to avoid any problems coming through the field from deep
back. Berryhill charged forward passing a car with every lap. upon lap
10 the second caution flag fell after a hard impact with the back straightaway
inside retaining wall by previous nights winner, Jimmy Warren. Upon
the restart the number 17 was in the 16 position advancing seven positions.
On lap 22 with three to go the enlyten back Ford Fusion was charging
and finished a strong 14th. Sunday - Testing
only no races. Fastest car in practice by 1/10th of a second. Monday, February
9th - With a good strong performance Saturday night, the enlyten Vision
Racing team was certain to find its way back to a solid starting position
for with a top ten finish in Mondays race. The Number 17 will start
the field in the 14th position and was looking to a strong top five
finish. Upon the drop of the green flag Berryhill took his machine to
the high side in turns one and two and completed an impressive pass
coming out of two passing the 12th and 13th place cars and holding the
12th position. As the field charged down the back straightaway car number
47 cut a right front tire as the number 17 was passing around the high
side going into turn three. Number 47 drove straight into the turn four
wall collecting Berryhill in the incident destroying the nose of the
number 17. The hard working Vision Racing pit crew was able to remove
the remaining body and get Berryhill back on the track prior to going
green again. The Vision Racing Ford Fusion returned to the race track
with no visible body from the windshield forward and restarted the race
in the 27th position. Upon a crash filled race Berryhill steadily and
cautiously raced his ill, aero, damaged machine through the field and
salvaged a 17th finishing position for the hard working team of Vision
Racing. Tuesday, February
10th - Working to build a new front end for the Ford Fusion enlyten
backed Number 17. We will overcome and success will be so much sweeter!
updates of tonight's action coming soon.
